Laura Steadham Smith’s work has appeared or is forthcoming in Quarterly West, Red Clay Review, Mental Floss, Florida English Journal, DIG magazine, and has been broadcast on Florida’s NPR affiliate. She was awarded the Colby H. Kullman fiction prize by the University of Mississippi in 2013 and has been recognized as a notable emerging writer by Glimmer Train and the Southern Writers Symposium. She holds an MFA in fiction from Florida State University, where she earned the George M. Harper writing award. She currently teaches and lives in Louisiana.
