VCU Commencement!Contributor Helen Georgia Stoddard with Executive Editor Christine Stoddard. Well, well, well...finals are finally over and commencement has long since commenced--in fact, it's over. QB founder & Executive Editor Christine Stoddard has graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University, School of the Arts AND College of Humanities & Sciences. Phew! We thought she might stay there forever! After transferring from Grinnell College after her first year and spending four years at VCU, Christine earned three degrees: two Bachelor's in Film and English/Creative Writing, plus a certificate in Product Innovation from the VCU da Vinci Center. She also earned minors in Spanish, French, and European Studies. And, gosh darn it, Christine was just four credits short of earning her certificate in Spanish/English Translation & Interpretation, too. But, hey, she has up to two years to return to VCU and finish the certificate if she so desires. Right now, it's time to take a break from school and really give QB her all. Thanks to the rest of The QB Crew and her loving friends & family, Christine's going to do exactly that. Every fledgling around's pretty confident that Quail Bell Magazine's going to become more than just the average college blog project. We hope that includes you, too! A poignant birthdayDear Josie,
Happy birthday! You would've been 24 years old today, had you not tragically died 6 months ago. Talented, spirited, and quirky, you embodied the true Quail Bell(e) philosophy of being. We miss you as our Managing Editor, contributing writer, and--above all--friend. Quem di diligunt, adolescens moritur. Feathery hugs forever, The QB Crew |
