Attention architecture and decorative arts fans! Last month Cooper Hewitt and the Art Deco Society of New York hosted an illuminating talk on 1930s interior design. But no worries if you missed it—we found the illustrated lecture for you! You can't visit any of the Smithsonian museums now because of the government shutdown, but the shutdown hasn't affected YouTube (yet.) Watch design historian Marilyn F. Friedman share archival images from her new book, Making America Modern: Interior Design in the 1930s. The simplicity of Modernism just might speak to any of you recent Marie Kondo converts, too.
