Down the Rabbit Hole with LoreBy Danielle Arze History and folklore is an intersection that has always interested me, while I love folklore I also want to know why these old stories have come about throughout the years. The podcast, aptly titled Lore, stands firmly in this junction and has held its place even with gaining popularity.

When ASMR Vlogging Meets Feminist HorrorBy Ghia Vitale Tingle Monsters is a short film that takes place in an ASMR Livestream. The story reflects how violence against women and femmes often starts with words, including internet comments. Warning: Discussions of misogyny, online harassment, and violence against women and femmes are ahead!

The Ghost WhispererBy Charlotte Rossler The early morning sun rose to shining blue skies. We bounced along in the smelly, crowded bus taking the curves too fast through the White Mountains. Wearing jean shorts, my sweaty thighs stuck to the dirty vinyl seat.
I hummed the John Denver song, “Sunshine on my Shoulders.” The song, released the year before, in 1974, stuck in my head. I loved playing that song on my guitar back home in California. The Breadcrumbs widget will appear here on the published site.

By Ghia Vitale
Gudetama, the famous Sanrio character/lazy egg, is back in book form to help you with dating and relationships! Gudetama: Love for the Lazy by Wook Jin Clark had me howling with laughter within the first few pages. Reading this graphic novel is the perfect way to celebrate Valentine’s Day or Galentine’s Day.

Stiches for EyelinerBy Nancy Jasko When my best friend in childhood, five years older than me, was reaching her prepubescent years and making up her face, she delighted me one day. She propped me on the toilet, told me to close my eyes, and go like “this” (and she demonstrated how I should raise my eyebrows while stretching my face when applying eyeliner.) Now look up at the ceiling, Lois said. I loved the look I saw in the mirror when she was done, my rosy baby cheeks complimented by my made-up eyes, liquid blue outline.

Temporary Cat LadyBy Caitlin Sellnow *Editor's Note: This piece previously appeared on Writing Disorder December 22nd, 2019. On his third night in my apartment, my new foster – a little black cat named Gallagher – finally started to make himself at home. He had spent most of our acquaintance so far under my bed. Tonight though, he emerged without being coaxed and crawled onto the back of the olive-green microfiber loveseat in my living room. His eyes almost disappeared into his face, except for the thin rings of gold around his pupils. I relaxed, seeing him with his paws draped over the front of the cushion. I should have known better than to let my guard down.

This is just ramblingBy Stefan Stoykov *Editor's Note: This piece was previously published in the 2019 edition of The A-Journal from the University of Frankfurt am Main. My father is the perfect epitome of a businessman. In fact, he’s so deep into his work that some years ago he moved away from home and relocated in his hotel. Then he’d be closer to the people he works with. To be fair, they work for him, or at least that’s what he’d say. He’s always been the one in charge and has had quite the number of people to manage in the last 30 years, and at some point in his career he turned into that type of a person who can only communicate with others by telling them what to do. His authority allows him to guide, instruct and sometimes even outright command people.

ConnectionsBy Erin M. Brown To make the connection between holiness and godliness we need to adopt the personality of the universe. The universe, as it cycles, fixes the story to our lives. The only truth in the universe is beauty. To explain this let us imagine our home planet, planet Earth. We hear about shootings, murders, rapists, and hell. But is any of that happening to us? I’m talking right at this moment. Is any of that happening to us? Much of what we hear, we believe will, or potentially could happen to us. We are in fear. If we are in fear we are tense, our muscles are tight, our brains are active with thought. Stillness ceases to exist.
