Founding Editor to Present New Works of Art at VCU Anderson Gallery in Richmond, VirginiaBy Rahcel Rivenbark Along with our other exciting news that we’ve been sharing for this month, the Quail Bell team is endlessly proud of our beloved founder Christine Stoddard, for having secured a free space at The Anderson Gallery to present her work, as a part of their 2019 Summer Space Grants program! Until the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts first opened its doors in 1936, The Anderson Gallery acted as the city of Richmond’s first and only art exhibit, quickly establishing itself over the years as a top-tier venue for artists both local and international. After its temporary closing in 2015, it reopened its doors to continue serving the community in collaboration with VCUarts by showcasing works by current and former students of Virginia Commonwealth University.
Ms. Stoddard is one of 14 artists who were chosen this summer to show their work at The Anderson, and her exhibit will be available for viewing between July 15th - July 22nd. The Anderson can be found at: 907 ½ W. Franklin St., Richmond, Virginia. Their viewing hours are as follows: Monday - Friday: 12:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. Saturday: 12:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. Sunday: Closed If any VCU students, Quail Bell readers, or other art lovers happen to be in the neighborhood during this time, we urge you to please stop by The Anderson to see some truly incredible art, and to show your support for Ms. Stoddard and the other artists displaying their work there this summer!
