ConnectionsBy Erin M. Brown To make the connection between holiness and godliness we need to adopt the personality of the universe. The universe, as it cycles, fixes the story to our lives. The only truth in the universe is beauty. To explain this let us imagine our home planet, planet Earth. We hear about shootings, murders, rapists, and hell. But is any of that happening to us? I’m talking right at this moment. Is any of that happening to us? Much of what we hear, we believe will, or potentially could happen to us. We are in fear. If we are in fear we are tense, our muscles are tight, our brains are active with thought. Stillness ceases to exist. Fear limits our sight, you can recognize this by the narrowing vision, the feeling of being alone, or out of options, it shrinks you and has the exact opposite of affects that of love. Love is expansion. Right at this moment we are alive, and if we allow ourselves to believe that we are alive, that everything is perfect, and we are perfectly safe we are experiencing godliness. I challenge you to take moment to yourself while you’re lying in bed preparing to go to sleep to remind yourself that you are perfectly safe. You have nothing to fear. You have nothing to do but relax. And it is safe to relax. When you are not suffering from a lack of sight your body naturally relaxes because the feeling that you are experiencing is beautiful, that is resonating with the universe. That is adopting its personality. The personality of the universe. We get so caught up on the small things, things that trigger us, bother us, annoy us, and these things are incredibly edible to the ego, the part of us that does not want to die. Contemplate the human perspective----we all experience these little pits in our emotional vitality every day. Now, zoom out to observe the planet. What do you see? A perfectly round-----silent, floating mass, of blue, green, brown, and white. Zoom out even further and we see our solar system. We notice the weather on the moons of Jupiter, the storms on Uranus, the rings of Saturn. Beautiful isn’t it? Let yourself be in awe of this mental image. Your stress subsides as your vision gets wider. Now, zoom out so you can see the Milky Way Galaxy, it’s absolutely gorgeous. Stunning!! And the universe has many and I mean many unique galaxies to observe. You are free to travel around and look at them. One look at the Milky Way galaxy and you realize that if you look at the whole picture all you see is beauty. Beauty in the most natural state it can possible develop. That is what “looking at the big picture” does to you. If we could see our full potential---our holiness----would we realize that everything happens for a beautiful reason, we are right on a beautiful track. Basically saying, that if we could see the future of ourselves, we would have trust, faith, awe, and amazement at the twists and turns and unseen potentials that are being worked into alignment every moment. In that, within ourselves, negative emotions would be an outdated thought pattern. Fear would have no place in our lives anymore as we would know and fully trust ourselves. Amazingly, the duality which many of us believe drives and dictates our lives will come to seem like a very terribly directed horror movie. No longer relevant to us, serves no purpose, we’ve found internal gold and we know it. We need godliness of the human eye to see our holiness as participants of the comic smelting of hearts. Fear is a lens of perception of self, that makes the huge observation of the universe we just had, seem helpless, cruel, and unobtainable. Back to planet Earth! We zoom towards one of the spiral arms and by following the light from our sun, bringing us back to our solar system, and our home planet. Has anything changed in your mind now that you have seen the bigger picture? That death, as bloody as it can come, in that very moment still looks beautiful with a wide perspective. So, the connection we are trying to make is that holiness is living without fear and being completely in love with the beauty of the universe; godliness is the process of getting there. The universe contains (if it is a container) all that we need to transcend we only need to discern what is expansive for us, and completely ignore the rest. Intellectually, it is our choice to either let the expansive vision take the place of fear, or let fear obstruct the godliness in us. Deep in my studies of spirit, I heard there is a gentle way of doing things and a hard way of doing things. Most believe in the hard way, because that is what they have heard from others, they believe in it, do not even try educate themselves about personal power, or the creative endeavors from the soul and consequently, the difficult path is what they experience. But to be gentle to yourself realize that your soul wants to see beauty and feel love. Give expansion the right-of-way, it makes the vehicle (the human body) second nature to drive.
