Hey nerds, if you're debating whether or not to go to grad school, we have a new program to tempt you: the nation's first-ever M.A. in Biography and Memoir at the Graduate Center, CUNY.
The GC just announced the degree on January 7th. Wondering why we're intrigued? Well, there a few reasons. One is that it's an interdisciplinary Master's program at a progressive, urban university known for its social mobility. Another is that it's located in one of our favorite cities in the world (hello, Sex & the City dreamland.) Something else worth mentioning is that the program is creative and scholarly. After taking four foundational courses, students can take electives in film, art history, psychology, urban politics, and other fields. Plus, Graduate Center faculty across departments have published their own award-winning biographies. Oh, and did we mention that the program is offering two $5,000 scholarships, too? That is at a school that already offers (relatively) affordable in-state tuition.
