Scorched and Quenched sister, i left your doll, your favorite doll, outside—and not during rainfall, but when the sun was tall. sister, i'm afraid her eyes, her bright brown eyes, burnt off. she can't see when we take her by the sea, or when you pour her tea. sister, i worry her skin, her pretty smooth, pink skin cracked and peeled from the sun, she looks scary, a sad girl, undone. sister, i burned your doll. what if i took some rainfall and watered her like Mother's gardenias? she won't smell nearly as pretty nor will her skin shine like pearls, but at least her burnt eyes will be full of tears of her own, when she sees her burns. #Unreal #Poetry #ZiaZulie #Healing #SaltWater #Quenched #LostLove #Nature Visit our shop and subscribe.
