Law of Conservation of MatterBy Sophia Diggs-Galligan QuailBellMagazine.com And the water gushes down again, etching its glistening snail path across millennia- it is times like these when we wonder if all rivers are circular, if somewhere beyond the cusp of the earth, the tails reunite, pushing and never cleaning, if, in a thousand years, another girl will look down upon her dark face and wholly black glassy animal eyes, any notion of human or lover erased, just another corpse, they’ll say, toss her back like an underfed fish, to die again, but no thing ever disintegrates or breaks down into soil or song, but even so. You can still say: everything that ever was is now. We take an oath, long before birth, to never disappear, to stand stolid, sturdy, solid, on the face of the earth, to crumble into everything. #Unreal #Poem #Poetry #LawofConservationofMatter #SophiaDiggsGalligan Visit our shop and subscribe.
