Beyond the walls of my homestead,
Barren pines whispered silently,
As ashen winds thrashed violently,
To feed a brilliant flower bed.
Blanketed Earth with needled tears,
That tucked in ghosts from unseen years,
With fire-breathing ecstasy.
But all for eternal assuage,
For during sunlight or shower,
Fire poppies rise and flower,
With scarlet larkspur and black sage.
Look around at the heavens found,
Spawned from the flames that Hell might make.
For every single breath we take,
A snapdragon leaps from the ground.
