(Do You Know Me) In Kentucky
By Jean Owens
QuailBellMagazine.com I was walking in the Café Sat down, at the table Watching outside the right window
And drinking coffee
I had a security uniform on The color like dark blue You were walking by the Café window Going through the northwest door To get to work You were dressed in a black suit You looked at me I looked at you Your eyes sparkled at me My eyes sparkled at me We both stood up At the same time Then left I left to go to The ladies room to refresh Came back into the Dining room Café Two months went by I went back to the Café I saw you coming down the stairs You were dressed in a purple tuxedo Everything stopped The ladies turned their heads And looked at you Then smiled I knew right away It was my lucky day I still had The sparkle that was In your eyes I stood up Then walked by You said hi I said hi Then next day in three months I’m just getting out of the car To walk to work You are coming out the administration Room I saw you I’m just getting out of the front desk Area To walk to The security room You stop me Do You Know Me No, I don’t know you Well my name is Unknown Well my name is Jean Ann Well I do know you No, you don’t know me You just know my name Is Jean Ann Nothing else Well you are right Why don’t we see each Other more often Ok, that won’t hurt A year later We married I guess you can say You Do Know Me Now
