The Mystery of Spring Fever Has Been Solved! (...maybe)
Doctors, Philosophers, and Historians have recently come together at the Institute of General Relief to exchange note and thoughts on Spring Fever in hopes of encapsulating the phenomenon which affects so many creatures.
‘Yes, we had very constructive meetings. Very productive,’ said head co-ordinator Wren Guffey, who will be heading a team of writers in compiling all thoughts and point of views into 1 cohesive stream: a book.
‘You’ve got doctors that fault the sudden shift of grey to blue weather as the determining factor of overall laziness and delusions that Spring can brings as gifts to some,’ Mrs. Guffey explained, ‘and then there’s philosophers that insist its neither physical nor material but merely our souls yearning to unfurl in the Spring as new budding leaves do. They liken it to hibernators who have after a dark Winters repose, confronted their inner, hidden worlds and are then ready to meet the outer world where they can suddenly experience Spring Fever and that is the case for most. But Historians are quick to point out that though they agree with the seasonal approach of this philosophy, history shows us its not factually accurate as the majority of creatures simply do not come out in Springtime to, ‘face the World’ and that, that is merely a romantic notion. In fact, millions of insects stay snug underground until the crackling heat of high Summer.
‘Apart from all the obvious differences, agreements were made and they were (somehow) funneled into large stacks of scattered notes that will be deciphered and translated, hopefully in time for the cozy months of next Winter.
For now, one can look around and see the flurry and excitement of Spring Life. Happily returning birds eager to make nests, bicycling friends with basketfuls of flowers ready to be planted and the new arrival of Spring life, be it Animal, Flower or Fairy--
