unreal, errant night By Haley Wooning QuailBellMagazine.com 1. unreal, errant night raven-dark I am sung towards
mouthless ruin fleeting, aimless dreams I give my hands to dark water I quiver amongst the stars indecipherable with longing I live inside the fur of a nameless animal I am voiceless. I speak. cruel one, keeper of my shadow, there are lilies drooped in apathy for your affections river-marsh, leafy vales there is sea-mist drawing shapes out of nothing a thin wind’s swill of illusion I wake from my long sleep of seeds sumptuous in emptiness, the skin of the other I move towards that which does not exist I waste the field I never forget mouthful of earth, inadvertent wish the earth is sowed in me, a dark labor, I recognize myself everywhere and nowhere a shadow in the wing of the definitive night-valley, I sink without sinking I am changeless, but changed lifeless, descending skies blood is scouting the fields for her hands the wild grass opens up into body fleshed voice, forest’s marrow the language of the unreal I leave the betrayed world, this night of wolves I am full of promise time will not undo me CommentsComments are closed.
