600 A.D., With an arrested commander, And crumbling Sui Dynasty. Our Emperor found, He may need this commander. Who else would protect him, From overthrow and slander. So where is Pingyang? What’s her part in this mess? Never fear my friends, For she’s about to impress. In some digs by the palace, Pingyang quietly dwelled, That is until, her father Felt compelled To start a rebel army To which Pingyang’s husband fled, But the lady of the hour, Stayed home instead. Once Pingyang was able, She snuck away in the night, Off to the country, To aid the peoples’ plight. She sold her family’s land, Raising an army on her own, Making the Emperor, Shake in his throne. Loved by the people, Her army did not rape nor pillage, All soldiers must be respectful, When they went through a village. After facing the ability Of Pingyang and her men, The Emperor would not dare To fight them again. Without the Emperor around Standing in her way, Pingyang could take the Capital, She saved the day. With the Emperor defeated, Pingyang’s father couldn’t be more proud, And in starting the Tang Dynasty, Her father allowed Much praise for his daughter, And the highest military parade, Thanking Pingyang For coming to his aid. Pingyang was rewarded For being fast and swift, But her father honored her With one last gift. Pingyang would become China’s princess as well. The woman who ensured, A Dynasty fell.
