Jeb! Bush's Pocket Full of Turtles By Gretchen Gales @GGalesQuailBell QuailBellMagazine.com *Editor's Note: Based off of the news story of a young boy who received a small toy turtle from Jeb Bush, as seen here. Special thanks to all of the artists including our own Melanie Bikowski and Christopher Sloce for their turtles. Jeb! Bush was walking down the street Trotting along with his Jeb! Bush feet He saw a little turtle on his walk A surprised gleam in his eyes as the turtle talked. "Excuse me, dear Jeb!," the turtle inquired.
"I've been walking quite a ways and am very tired." Jeb! said, "No problem! Come ride in my pocket." And giddily he went, off like a rocket. Jeb! was thrilled, but he still felt lonely. He wished there were more turtles (if only, if only). On his campaign, he'd search for more. Turtle and turtles and turtles galore! Jeb! collected turtles from each and every state Searching for so many he showed up to campaigns late! Jeb! wanted all turtles to have a home And he knew elections are too dangerous to do alone. He traveled the nation far and wide With his turtles and the comfort they would provide Even when an orange man yelled at him Jeb! could always rely his turtles when life was dim. And though his campaign was soon suspended The turtles in his pocket made him feel splendid. He chatted with a young boy who wanted to go to space Handing him a turtle, Jeb! said, "Slow and steady wins the race!" Comments12/2/2016 12:25:32 am
