Guys, boys, are a commodity.
Dating the trade,
New York City the floor.
Everyone is on the market
and there is a variety around to sample,
as I am looking for investment options.
Every person marketable in their own way.
Embracing arbitrage to get the most bang for their buck.
trying to impress
trying to drive up their own valuation.
My portfolio is diverse,
exploring different sectors
to see which has the greatest yield.
The actors and models turn heads.
The bartenders can get you into any club.
The dancers can get you (standing room) tickets to any show.
The artists take you to all you could drink gallery openings.
The lawyers take you to fancy dinners to prove they can afford to.
The architects show you all the classic details in your favorite dive.
The celebrities take you to apartments and hotels you will never afford.
The label owners get you VIP passes at every venue.
The musicians get you on the guest list.
Yet the first date volume doesn’t yield a lot of second dates.
The market stays fairly steady,
the exchange stays exciting
with new prospects IPOing every day.
Trades happen quickly,
freeing up capital to invest elsewhere.
Occasionally hiring friends as brokers
not relying on my own research.
The holidays always brings a volatility to even the best bull market,
even your blue chips stop paying dividends
as we slowly edge toward a bear market until Spring sets in
and everything starts to rally.
