Creation in Isolation: A New Feature on Quail Bell MagazineHello Fledglings, What a weird week, huh? I know that I am wondering just how this will turn out for so many people. I'm currently sitting at home wondering how I will be teaching my students new concepts online when some many have trouble learning or accessing materials remotely. Meanwhile, many artists and writers are experiencing a loss of promotion and income vital to keeping their dreams alive. While these are no way the only kinds of professions going through the tremendously turbulent and unpredictable events of the world, we wanted to extend our help to fellow creatives to lift our spirits You see, we spent much of late 2018 and 2019 compiling an anthology of women's writing that had many launch events planned for this year. You may have seen us mention it a few times. Her Plumage: An Anthology of Women's Writings from Quail Bell Magazine was launched on Blurb earlier this year to benefit RAINN. We haven't been able to promote the collection enough to share the words of so many talented women writers, and it hurts to see so many other creative people also experience the same stolen joy in the aftermath of a global pandemic. So we are inviting you and those you know to submit your book, gallery opening, small business, or other venture to be interviewed on our site in a new feature called "Creation in Isolation". If you are interested, shoot us an email at [email protected] with the subject line FEATURE. In the body, give us a brief summary and social media links to help us get to know more about you and your work. We hope to feature as many people as possible, but please do not think we do not think you are worthy enough if we cannot get back to you due to the volume of potential submissions. This is in no way trying to overshadow or ignore the crisis at hand. At Quail Bell, we believe it is vital to balance activism and charity with a little fun, too. We are also welcoming more serious and diverse profiles on how people around the globe have been affected by COVID-19 (more to come on that as well). We have also created this flyer that is shareable on a variety of social media. Feel free to use it and pass it along!
