How To Think Creatively Each DayMost people want to be seen as creative. Creativity is typically associated with positive traits such as being fun, carefree, smart, energetic, innovative, driven, and unafraid to push boundaries, to name just a few. Who wouldn’t want to be connected with this type of personality? However, even if you do not see yourself as a particularly creative character, that doesn’t mean that you cannot embrace the notion of creativity and imagination in your everyday life. You just need to rewire the way you think slightly and make a few small changes to your daily routine. It’s really that simple. Start Your Day Off Positively If your morning usually involves rushing around like a headless chicken, trying to get all your chores done, and manically eating your breakfast, then you probably need to try and find a way to calm this routine down. Most people are at their most creative first thing in the morning, so do not waste this inventive time by being stressed. Instead, try to take 5-10 minutes to sit down with a pen and paper and write about what you are grateful for that particular day. Not only will this calm your mind, but it will also set you up for a positive day of creative thinking. Embrace Your Messy Side Studies have shown that working in an untidy environment is actually more productive to creativity than trying to brainstorm in a clean and clutter-free space. Of course, this is largely down to the individual. If you feel calmer and more centered in a tidy area then go ahead, but if there is a choice between working on your novel or painting your next masterpiece and doing yet another load of laundry, creatives would pick their art every time. Think Outside of the Box at Work Whatever your job description, there will be ways in which you can showcase your creativity at work. This may be by designing a work party invitation or it could be by suggesting to create branded power banks for all your colleagues. The beauty of creativity is that it has zero boundaries and that you can interpret it in any way that you want to. Widen Your Social Circle Creatives are generally either exceedingly extroverted or incredibly introverted, but if you want to truly explore your own creativity, you need to surround yourself with people from all walks of life. Exposing yourself to new ideas and different perspectives is the ideal way to get your creative juices flowing, especially if you are being challenged by another individual. Refresh Your Mind With Physical Exercise It seems that exercise is indeed good for the mind, body, and soul. In fact, even something as simple as a 30-minute walk in the fresh air can reboot your mind and boost your creative levels, not to mention your mood. Therefore, the next time you are feeling a creative block or even if you are just feeling overwhelmed either at work or at home, pull on your sneakers and take to the great outdoors. Without a doubt, you will feel better for it. CommentsComments are closed.
