Health Benefits of Filtered Water
Water is our body’s fuel, we require a lot of the stuff to function properly and for all our internal organs to operate at their optimum levels. Lots of pure, clean and plain water is healthy for us, yet not enough of us get it! Getting a decent amount of water intake can work wonders for your body and do far more than all of those “health remedies” claim to do.
With that being said, is there a massive difference between filtered and unfiltered water, and does it really matter which you drink? Purified water does not contain any chlorine, a suspect chemical which has been the subject of much controversy over the decades.
Chlorine is the chemical most of us know from swimming pools – it is used to disinfect them and kill bacteria. This same chemical is used in tap water to disinfect that, too. This is why most tap water will have an odd or bitter taste and smell to it which, ideally, should not be there.
It Does Not Run Through Old Pipes
When water leaves the water treatment plant, it is free from virtually any and all bits of bacteria and other nasties. However, when it has gone the distance through your city’s network of water pipes – some of which are decades old – it could be picking up all sorts of bacteria and germs along the way.
This is why water is chlorinated and, although it helps to battle the bacteria, it is still not a nice thought. Even though you cannot see little bits of dirt, sand and rust in your tap water, it is definitely there, and once you start purifying your water at home with a filter, you will see all the nasties which collect on it.
