Our Boys & Girls Club Debut
Wondering why there weren't many updates on the website yesterday? On April 20, QB made its Boys & Girls Club debut for Global Youth Service Day. Executive Editor Christine Stoddard and Associate Editor Julie DiNisio represented VCU AmeriCorps and helped set up a world exhibit at the Boys & Girls Club in Southside Richmond. Christine worked in the European exhibit, setting up a table about European folklore, while Julie worked in the North American exhibit, donning her first-ever sports jersey. The children learned about cultures and countries from around the world.
Welcome to our staff blog, where you can learn more about Quail Bell behind the scenes.
Christine Stoddard conceived the idea for Quail Bell in late 2009 after writing a children's story by the same name. With help from the likes of David Fuchs, Bolashade Hanson, Maggie Craig, Amy Cheong and others, she launched the current version of the website in September 2011, with yet another re-launch in April 2013. The magazine's run primarily by a dedicated team of artists and writers in Virginia, Maryland, and Washington, D.C., though contributors come from around the world. More at our press kit...
